We resume weekly Wednesday morning walks on October 8, this will be a 10 or 11 week term.
We enjoyed a wonderful variety of walks throughout Term 3, only missing one Wednesday due to the winter weather. A great group of walkers, new friendships have been formed and despite different walking levels, we all seem to fall in step, everyone looking out for each other. Some are brisk, some are mindful, some manage to be both and we all end up together at the end!
Term 4, Koanga/Spring is a magical season of new life on the Tutukaka Coast, either at the moana or in the ngahere, puawananga/clematis flower of the skies, continues to flower, the mana/birds are singing and swooping! Look out for the arrival of Pīpīwharauroa. “Ka tangi te wharauroa, ko nga karere a Mahuru” meaning “If the shining cuckoo cries, it is the messenger of Spring”.
