Term Two Yoga begins on Tuesday April 30, Weds May 1 for Nordic Walking, a 10 week term.
‘Yoga classes with Robyn at the Ngunguru Hall are the highlight of my week. Classes are held during the school terms throughout the year. Each term, each week, and each class is special in it’s own way. Robyn puts so much effort, thought, consideration and love into designing classes that teach, guide, encourage, counsel, build and challenge each person. The term series has a theme, like “Spring” or exploration of the Chakras. Every week has a theme and the classes have a particular focus. Almost without realizing it, Robyn gently leads us through asanas, pranyamas and into more aspects of yoga culture. Soon, you recognize the Sanskrit names of poses; notice that classes flow in a specific pattern from beginning to end; know lots of different asanas and sequences; and have an increase in flexibility, strength, focus, positive outlook. Robyn gives careful instructions, keeps a watchful eye on everyone and quietly makes modifications for individuals if they’re needed. I like the way Robyn explains the anatomy of the poses and breath practices. Whether the hall is full or not, the quality of teaching is excellent. Looking back at 3 years of yoga with Robyn, it has been an opportunity to learn so much more than I expected in new and un-expected ways.
No matter what is on my mind or what is grumpy in my body when I enter the hall for yoga class, by the end of class, I have a feeling like a clear water running over a stony brook in the forest, or like swimming in the ocean when the water is crystal clear. D. November 2017
