Thanks so much to over 40 people who attended The Shamanic Journey with Facilitator, Alyse Young.
This was held in Ngunguru Hall on Sunday April 9, organised by Robyn with even herbal tea and carrot cakes made by Helen Arthur, it was a special Community Event. Several people have already sent lovely emails saying how much they enjoyed the experience.
‘I feel so grateful to have Alyse come up to our little neck of Nz and facilitate this Journey. She has a beautiful presence and I felt humbled to be a part of it.’
We hope we will be fortunate enough for Alyse to visit us again, in the meantime look out for her Shamanic Journeys once a month on a Sunday at Kawaii Purupura. The next one is April 30.
Transformational Yoga
It was a bonus to have Utkarsh and Disha also come with Alyse, they are teachers of Transformational Yoga in Mt Eden and at Kawaii Purupura. ‘I attended a Workshop with Utkarsh at Kawaii Purupura last November and love the way Transformational Yoga involves the sound and vibration of Mantras with the asanas – Vishuddhi Chakra, the Transformer, I think – it is very powerful, yet calming.’

A Grounding Exercise
As well as remembering and feeling the wonderful sound and vibration of the drum, I like to recall these special cues from Alyse’s Grounding Exercise which reconnect our energy back to ourselves-
‘Imagine you are a big old tree, reaching to the Sky and Roots deep below connecting you to the Earth
Breathe in fresh new energy from the Earth, all through your toes , legs, body, arms, head, into all the spaces of the body, now breathe out releasing energy not belonging to you
It is ok for me to be in my body, it is ok for me to have feelings
I am present and I belong
I am loved and I am safe
This is my body where I belong
I command that my Inner Child sit in my abdomen
I am that, I am ‘
