A Full Moon is a beautiful time for wholeness, celebrating completeness, fullness, a bright time of the month, a time to pause, feel and draw on the yin energy of the moon and to feel the flow of subtle energy within.
We will begin sitting in Sukhasana against the smooth wooden wall, sitting well back, bringing the head back in line with the spine to feel the base of the skull, shoulder blades, the sit bones on the ground, a long strong relaxed spine supported by the wall, palms on knees. We will pause, being aware of our feelings, our natural energy right now, allowing our wholeness.
A full moon is a time for an Intention of kindness for yourself, so you can be the same to others, an Intention of dedicating this time for your self, so you can be fully present in your own body,an Intention of gratitude for your Self, one aspect of yourself, your life.
‘Be aware of Bindhu point or drop at the base of the skull, a focal point through which consciousness expresses itself, a place of sustained energy, bliss, wisdom. From here make infinity circles of the neck, keeping this Bindhu point on the wall, small circles with eyes closed to larger following the movt with the eyes. Bring palms up now in a mudra of your choice, open receiving, open heart, shoulders, hips, long spine, crown reaching, space for the breath. Observe the natural spontaneous breath, feel it entering and leaving the body, where it sits in the body for you, allow the breath to be the vehicle of consciousness’.
Alternate nadi shodhana with light ujjayi pranayama Alternate nostril breathing brings us to the present moment, being just with the breath and balancing the flow of subtle energy, of prana in the nadis. Inhaling at L kidney, taking the breath up to the crown, exhaling down to R kidney, inhale at the right kidney …..being aware of the pauses at the top of the inhale, the bottom of the exhale, giving the spaces between the thoughts, feel the slowness of the breath now.
Salute to the Moon is a soothing meditative flow bringing us into balance with the lunar cycles and with the flow of life.
